An All-Knowing God

God is always referred to by religions as all-knowing, wise and a whole slew of other titles that seem oddly like attempts to praise an ego. However, when looking at the stories taught by these religions and the world around us, there is very little to suggest the actions of such a being.

There are just too many things that that a wise, loving and all-knowing being would not do. For example, if this god is all-knowing, and knows exactly what will happen, then nothing should have been a surprise. In that case:
1.    Why did this god create satan knowing what he would do?
2.    Why was it surprised when Adam and Eve ate the fruit?
3.    Why did it create the world of people knowing it would have to mass murder all (including babies and small children) but one family in a flood?
4.    Why create people like Hitler, Stalin and all the other murdering psychos in history knowing what they would do?
5.    Why create people knowing they will be damned for all eternity?

Of course, this list can go on and on, but the point is as follows: This world and the stories religions teach us about this god do not mesh with an all-knowing, loving, thoughtful being behind it all. Whatever forces are at work here, it is certainly not the kind of being described in the Abrahamic religions.
